AC 5X
The motor identifications on this page have been changed to "AC 5X" to reflect the addition of the AC-51 into the AC-50 family of motors.
The AC 50 motor is an 8" motor that is capable of producing 71 horsepower and 120 ft-lbs. of torque. It was designed for use in an automotive application with a curb weight of 3500 lbs or less. This system is used in other vehicles that require the torque and horsepower that this motor supplies. It is available with or without a 7/8" auxiliary shaft.
With the introduction of the new Curtis 144 volt controller we are now offering the AC-51 motor. This motor is designed to work with the new controller allowing for peak torque to go out further in the RPM range.
The AC 51 motor is the same 8" motor that has been designed around the Curtis 144 volt controller. It is capable of producing 88 horsepower and 108 ft-lbs. of torque. It was designed for use in an automotive application with a curb weight of 4000 lbs or less. This system is used in other vehicles that require the torque and horsepower that this motor supplies. It is available with or without a 7/8" auxiliary shaft as well.
The weight of the AC 50 and AC 51 motors are around 115 pounds/52.2 Kg.
This motor is also very popular in the mining industry. We manufacture an enclosed (not water proof) version of this motor that is used for personnel carriers.
